2009 Banquet Speaker The conference coordinators of the 2009 MPSURC are pleased to announce that the 2009 Banquet Speaker is: William G. Jacoby is Professor in the Department of Political Science at Michigan State University and Research Scientist at the University of Michigan, where he is Director of the Inter-University Consortium for Political and Social Research (ICPSR) Summer Program in Quantitative Methods of Social Research. Dr. Jacoby received his B.A. from the University of Delaware, and his M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He recently served as Editor of the Journal of Politics (2001-2004). Dr. Jacoby's areas of specialization are mass political behavior and quantitative methodology. His substantive research focuses on ideology and personal value choices in public opinion and voting behavior. His methodological interests include measurement theory, scaling methods, and statistical graphics.
